Most commercial farms involved in the cultivation of roses use chemicals and other synthetic products for growing them. But at the same time, more and more gardeners are now recommending cultivators, and especially households, to use natural and organic methods for growing these plants instead.

Roses happen to thrive in natural environments and give a very healthy bloom on an annual basis, and therefore there is no reason why you should rely on manmade products to enhance their growth. Plants have been growing on our planet since time immemorial without involving mankind and it was just a few thousand years ago that mankind started using flowers to bring more beauty in its life.

Roses, like all other plants, would in normal circumstances absorb their nutrients and moisture through their roots in the soil. Also, their leaves perform the process of photosynthesis in which they combine sunlight and water to produce energy for them to survive. Apart from that, the soil in which they grow is also home to various organisms including bacteria, fungus, worms and dead plants, which together break down to help further enrich the soil and provide its nutrient content.

These days, most commercial farmers tend to use various kinds of pest removers and fertilizers in order to further enhance the growth of rose plants, and the use of artificial means ends up disrupting the entire natural process. It throws the natural interaction of your rose plants with the surrounding environment into complete disarray which in the long term also affects their health. These chemicals also kill various microorganisms which are very beneficial for the growth of your rose plants and decrease the tolerance of your roses. This makes them more vulnerable to diseases in the long term.

It is quite easy to cultivate roses through natural methods. You should replace the artificial fertilizers with organic compost which you can make at your own home. All you will need to do is to add fallen leaves, dead plants, animal waste, dry grass and other natural waste such as fruit peels, eggs shells and bones and make a pile and let it decompose for some time. There are many ways through which you can create organic compost, but this is the basic one. All you need to do is to ensure that the decaying process is completed smoothly. As far as pesticides are concerned, you can easily replace them with organic solutions which are much more effective and do not have any negative effect on the natural environment.
