There are common yet non-life threatening health conditions that plague you from time to time. Some of these conditions include earache, runny nose, and sore throat. There are herbal treatments that relieve these health problems and it takes simple steps to prepare them.

Natural Remedy for Ear Ache

When you start feeling pain in your ear, you might have an ear infection. There are simple steps that would alleviate this condition.

If you check with your local pharmacist, there are probably lots of available treatments for ear infection. For instance, there is the Vitamin E oil or garlic oil capsule. You simply need to warm the capsule in hot water so you can use it as cure for your ear infection.

Meanwhile, for practical steps to reducing ear infection or relieving earache, you can use chamomile. Warm it in the fire then wrap in a cloth so you can lay your painful ear against it. While the warm therapy helps cure a painful ear, the cold therapy method is just as effective. You may get an ice bag and let it rest against your ear for about 15 minutes.

Ginger is also another effective herb against earache. Take fresh ginger, grate it, and mix with sesame oil. Take the juice out of the mixture and drop equal amounts into each ear. After you have done that, use a cotton ball to plug each ear. The cotton balls help prevent foreign substances from getting into the ear.

Natural Remedy for Runny Nose

Among common ailments, a runny nose is probably the most annoying. It certainly does not hurt but the constant dripping is annoying and embarrassing at the same time. Meanwhile, if you do not pay attention to the early stages of runny nose, it can develop further into a cough, sinus problems, earaches or all three. Good thing there are several home remedies for this condition.

Prepare about 8 ounces of warm water. By dissolving a tablespoon of ordinary salt into the warm water, you can now use that saltwater solution to wash your nostrils with. Simply use a dropper to control the amount of the solution that goes into your nostrils. Draw the water into your nose by inhaling slowly. Keep doing this until you feel some relief in your nose.

Thyme is a type of herb that is commonly used for culinary purposes. However, this herb is also an effective home remedy against runny nose. Take about a tablespoon or two of dried thyme and crush it until fine. You must aim for a powder consistency. Once you have finely crushed the thyme, you may start inhaling the powdered mixture.

Another form of remedy for runny nose involves turmeric. Take ground turmeric and soak it in linseed oil, which is available in most health food stores. Then, heat the turmeric until it begins to smolder. As you do this, inhale the smoke that is produced to relieve your runny nose.
